Labor Day Weekend

80 degree weather- check, running creek- check, rainstorms- check, lots of good food and drinks- check, happy kids-check....We had a perfect Labor Day weekend at the cabin! :)

 My favorite of the weekend- Blake giving Emerson the flower he picked for her:)

 Blake has become the master at finding worms.

 Emerson turned this one into her baby. She made it a bed and food and named it Squirmy the Wormy.

 The apples were plentiful on Orchard Lane!

Both kids were able to test out their biking skills. Blake got very brave going through puddles and down hills.

 Jeremy was out mountain biking when a HUGE storm came through. This picture doesn't quite capture it, but he was soaked when he returned.

Sweet Friends

The Calcote Family stopped in Phoenix for a night on their trip from L.A. to Kansas City. It was so much fun to see them all again and to have these two sweet friends together again. :)

Blake and Emerson Riding Bikes!!!!

A couple of weeks ago we took off the kids' training wheels and headed to a nearby school.

 Jeremy started by holding onto Blake on the grass to get the feel of it.

 Then, they headed to the basketball court for the real deal. Jeremy held onto Blake for maybe 1 second before he was off and riding. You would have thought Blake had been riding for months. He had complete control, was going fast, over hills, and stopping with no problem- Wow!

 Emmie's turn....She was a bit more hesitant.

 Again, we started on the grass...

 We headed over to the basketball courts. Jeremy held onto her for a little while. When he let go, she was a little wobbly but rode on her own. He helped her get started a couple more times, then she was off and riding too!!!!

 

We are so proud of our babies, especially daddy. He's already researching mountain bikes for kids! :)

August Recap

In August, my teacher hat is on a little tighter than my mommy hat. I've been crazy busy as all teachers are in August. The school year is off to a great start for me at work and for the kids at pre-kindergarten. Life is finally settling down and we are back in the school routine which is really nice. Here are a few of the pictures I've taken in the past month...

Meet the Teacher- The kids were very excited to meet their new teachers (Ms. Marianne and Ms. Teresa). They were thrilled to learn that about half the kids in their class last year are also in their class this year. It was a smooth transition for them:)

 

Here are the kids the day before school started all ready for church. Our church does a "blessing of the backpacks" for all the kids before the school year. 

 A quick pic of Emmie on her first day of school. It was also my first day of school so I was headed out early. Blake was still sleeping!

I had to settle for 3rd day of school pictures (their first school day where I did not have to work). They love school, their teachers, and all their new friends.
