Emerson drew this adorable picture (I drew the tree and dog) one morning at the cabin. She loved her picture, so I asked her if she would like to write a story to go with it. She was super excited with the idea, so she told me her story as I wrote it word-for-word. The writing teacher in me is so very proud! :)
Rainbow Flower Place
Once upon a time there were people with their dog named Savannah. They went on a walk to a beautiful park. There were clouds and the dog got there first. She played with her ball and chewed it up. After that, the people were here. They played with their doggy. Emerson played with the flowers and picked them. The rainbow was very happy. The people smiled.

4th of July Weekend
Festive breakfast, then off to the cabin for a long weekend.
Emerson's artwork- she wrote her very first story to go with it. I'll write the full story in my next post.
A couple families rented the cabin across the creek for a reunion type get together. Blake and Emerson had loads of fun playing with all the kids in the creek and dirt. Made for some very dirty children and clothes!
On Saturday we went for an adventure hike/swim. We didn't quite make it to our waterfall destination, but we found a really beautiful and fun area to spend some time.
We met a really fun family down the creek from us; they have 4 year old triplets, 2 boys and one girl, not to mention their other 2 children! They are our newest cabin friends. Savannah was very happy because they have a big dog just 1 day younger than her- nonstop fun for all! Here she is wiped out after her playdate:)
Saturday afternoon we enjoyed a monsoon thunder/rain storm. The kids played games while Jeremy watched the storm from the porch. We had an amazing weekend- thinking we may need to go again next weekend!

Sesame Street Presents- THE BODY
Last weekend we were able to attend the grand opening of the newest exhibit at the Science Center (Thanks Grammy Peggy)! First we had breakfast, then Elmo made his grand appearance. We headed upstairs for a ribbon cutting ceremony, and the kids got a sneak peak at the awesome new exhibit. Such a fun morning!
